In Chicago, in an Albanian family from Devolli, John Belushi (John, 1949-1982), variety actor, actor of stage and big and small screen, musician, was born. In 1973, he went to New York, where he began his career as a comedian, initially in night clubs. His success led him to feature television programs (Saturday Night Live). John Belushi simultaneously played in movies, on TV and sang in the “Blues Brothers” ensemble, which was very popular. From 1979, he devoted himself more to film. Although he had a short life, he acted in 6 films: “South Pass” (director Jack Nicolson, 1977), “Animal House” (director John Landis, 1978), “1941” (director Steven Spielberg, 1979), ” The Blues Brothers” (director John Landis, 1980) and “The Neighbors” (director John G. Avildsen, 1981), which had great popularity in America and Europe. (In the photo: John Belushi)
