With today’s denomination, the Albanian Telegraphic Agency (ATA) was established, the central informative institution of the Republic of Albania. The activity of the Albanian Telegraphic Agency began with the first announcements of the Provisional Government of Vlorë (1912), which also included the Ministry of Post and Telegraphs (December 4, 1912). As the main source of information in Albania, it has gathered, published, and distributed information to the media and any other type of service related to mass communication. The Albanian Telegraphic Agency publishes bulletins in Albanian, English, and French for the service of media, central and local institutions, international organizations, and other political and social organizations worldwide. ATA has a wide network of journalists, translators, correspondents throughout the country, as well as in the region (Kosovo, Macedonia, Greece, etc.). It is connected online with the largest news agencies in the world and Europe, as well as with about 20 agencies from the Balkans and the Mediterranean. The Albanian Telegraphic Agency transmits around 200 news items every day and is able to offer them in real-time, covering the most important political, economic, chronicle, cultural, entertainment, social, and sports events from Albania, the region, and the world.
