The first issue of the “Revista letrare”

Lexo ngjarje:

The first issue of the “Revista letrare” (“The literary magazine”) was published in Tirana, under the direction of the co-founder writers: Mitrush Kuteli, Vedat Kokona, Sterjo Spasse and Nexhat Hakiu. Since they were people of pen, they chose the word to appeal to the national conscience. Kuteli, an economist by profession, counted several published volumes in 1944 (“Netë shqiptare” (“Albanian nights”), “Kapllan Aga i Shaban Shpatës”, “Ago Jakupi” or “Sulm e lot” (“Attack and tears”). Likewise, Kokona, who graduated in law in Paris, had begun to be known among writers with the genre of poems and stories (“Dritë e hije” (“Light and shadow”) and “Yje të këputura”( “Broken Stars”). The work of Spasse includes in its diversity translations, articles, monographs, stories and novels. While Hakiu possessed, compared to them, more experience in running periodicals, having served as editor-in-chief of the magazines “Përpjekja shqiptare” (“The Albanian endeavor”) and “Shkëndija” (“The Spark”).
