In the Gestapo cells in Tirana, Manush Alimani, a participant in the National Liberation Anti-Fascist War, and a People’s Hero, passed away. He was born in Shkodra and grew up in Tirana. From a young age, he engaged in anti-fascist activities and distinguished himself as one of the most active young communists in the capital’s high school. He became a member of the Communist Party of Albania in 1943. He was a leader of the youth and one of the leaders of the Communist Party and the National Liberation Anti-Fascist War in the former Shkodra region, the political secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth (1943 and later), a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Albania (1944). He was arrested unexpectedly and brutally tortured in the Gestapo cells in Tirana. (In the photo: Manush Alimani)
