The Second Bektashi Congress convened at the “Hajdarie” Tekke in Gjirokastër. This congress aimed to strengthen the foundations of the institutionalized Bektashi organization and to uphold the decisions taken at the First Bektashi Congress. During the congress, a new statute consisting of 72 articles was approved. The Atnor Council was authorized to protect, at any time, not only the sanctuaries in Albania but also those in Greece and Macedonia, which had been established and were led by Albanians. The fundamental principle of the statute was the “Eternal Bektashi Law.” (In the photograph: The statute approved at the Second Bektashi Congress.)
