The National Education Congress of Tirana convened, with approximately 40 delegates representing various regions of Albania, including notable figures such as Aleksandër Xhuvani, Jani Minga, Salih Çeka, Thoma Papapano, Kolë Kamsi, and others. Deputies and prominent figures in education, such as Luigj Gurakuqi and Minister Rexhep Mitrovica, were also invited. The Congress approved the new system of a 6-year primary school in urban areas and a 4-year primary school in rural areas. It called for the implementation of compulsory primary education for boys and girls over the age of 6 and endorsed the abolition of urban schools, deciding instead to establish 3-year vocational schools and 6-year gymnasiums. The Congress decided to establish nursery shelters, publish a pedagogical magazine, gather language resources, and prepare an Albanian language dictionary. It also included subjects on morality, civic education, practical manual work, and gardening in the curriculum. The Congress emphasized the importance of teaching exact and natural sciences and strengthening the national content of subjects such as history, language, and literature, etc. (In the photo: Delegates participating in the Educational Congress of Tirana.)
