In Korçë, the first issue of the newspaper “Lidhja Orthodhokse” (1909–1910) was published. It was a bi-weekly political, religious, and literary newspaper, partly published in Greek. It continued until issue number 22 (June 1910). It was the organ of the society “Lidhja Orthodhokse,” with Mihal Grameno as the director. The newspaper exposed the chauvinistic policies of neighboring kingdoms towards territories and the indigenous Albanian population: it fought for the introduction of Albanian as the language of services in the Orthodox Church and reflected the inhumane massacres of Ottoman forces against the Albanian population and insurgents. It was closed by decision of the Ottoman military court. Contributors included Hilë Mosi, Sotir Peci, etc. (In the photo: View from the city of Korça, 1909.)
