Antonio Vivaldi, a renowned Italian composer, passed away in Vienna (Austria). He was born in Venice, the Venetian Republic at that time, in 1678. One of his operas, “Skanderbeg,” was staged in Florence in 1718. This part of his work became known to the Albanian public in December 2003 when it was performed in a Christmas concert by the Children’s Choir and Orchestra of the Academy of Arts in Tirana, conducted by Maestro Milto Vako, alongside Prenk Jakova’s opera “Skanderbeg.” The figure of Skanderbeg has been immortalized in a series of artistic works that have entered the golden fund of world art.
