After a break of half a century (1946), diplomatic relations between Albania and the United States of America were restored. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on July 28, 1922. Relations with the USA are of primary and strategic importance. There are about 27 treaties and agreements between them in different fields, where we will single out those in the fields of security, justice and police, economy, transport, defense, and culture. Economic cooperation is important. In the context of cooperation with American agencies or institutions, we can mention USAID, the Albanian-American Fund for Enterprises, the American Chamber of Commerce, etc. The two countries are now allied countries in NATO. Albania supports NATO’s policy, which serves democratic development and good neighborly relations and increases national and international security and stability.
