Kajo Karafili, Hero of the People, was killed in the war against the German Nazis, in Lis-Patros of Kavaja. Participant of the Anti-Fascist National Liberation War, partisan commander. He was born in Bllacë, Pogradec. Meetings in Peza with communist militants Qemal Stafa, Vasil Shanto, etc., influenced his formation as a communist. He is one of the first fighters of the Peza anti-fascist squad (1940). Organized and participated in a series of important actions and daring assassinations in Tirana, Kavajë, etc. He fell in the war against the German Nazis, in Kavaja, on January 10, 1944. Streets, schools, etc. bear the name of Kajo Karafili. His bust is in the city of Kavaja. (In the photo: Kajo Karafili)
