The first issue of the newspaper “Politika” (“Politics”) (1922-1924), an informative, political, social, economic, cultural, etc. weekly newspaper, was published in Tirana. 85 issues were published. From no. 1 of the third year of publication (1924) it was turned into “Organ Kombëtar-Demokrat” (“National-democrat organ”) with editor Halim Xhelon, who from no. 23 also took the responsibility of the director. In numbers 32-35 of 1924, the newspaper “Politika” was published as an “Independent National Organ”. It was one of the most democratic newspapers of the time. Through its writings, the “Politika” newspaper propagated the ideas of the democratic and liberal movement and spoke for the construction of a democratic state in Albania. During the period of the June 1924 Democratic Revolution, it fought for the implementation of the program announced by Fan Noli’s government. (In the photo: “Politika” newspaper page.)
