The first issue of the newspaper “Korça” (1908–1910) was published, a weekly political, literary, and commercial newspaper of the city of Korçë, directed by Sami Pojani. It continued until issue number 53. In 1910, a Turkish supplement was added. Collaborators included Mihal Grameno, Hilë Mosi, Asdreni, Thanas Floqi, Izet Zavalani, and others. The newspaper played an important role in shaping public opinion about the Albanian people’s struggle for freedom, independence, and the territorial integrity of Albania. Its pages contained articles against the centralizing policies of the Young Turks and supported the truth that Albania was a country “included in Europe”, belonging to a “whole nation with branches spread out”. The national ideal of the newspaper “Korça” was expressed in a series of writings with the idea “Tosks and Ghegs are one”, etc. (In the photo: Front page of issue 24 of the “Korça” newspaper.)
