Nuhi Berisha, activist of the illegal movement, was born in Svircë of Kamenicë (Kosovo). He completed primary school in his hometown, and high school in Gjilan. As a high school student, he was involved in illegal activities. Meanwhile, he continued his studies at the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Physical Education in Pristina. He took an active part in the 1981 demonstrations and took notes on the Pristina demonstrations from March 26 to April 2. He developed the illegal activity within the organization Movement for the Albanian Republic in Yugoslavia. In February 1982, he immigrated to Switzerland, where he stayed until October of the same year. He returned to Kosovo, to develop activity in complete illegality, together with Rexhep Malen. Nuhi Berisha also dealt with writings. In emigration, he published the works “Pranvera e luleve të kuqe” (“The spring of red flowers”), in which he reflects the events of 1981 and “Mbi organizimin” (“On organization”), where he gives ideas and suggestions about the organization of illegal activity. He also wrote poetry. After the security and tracking bodies had tracked him down, in 1984 he was surrounded by large police forces in the “Vranjevc” neighborhood (today, Kodra e Trimave) in Pristina, where he was killed while fighting.
