Fahri Fazliu, activist of the movement for national liberation, Hero of Kosova, was born in Llaushë of Podujeva. He completed primary school in his hometown, while high school in Prishtina. He developed dense activity since the time of popular demonstrations in the spring of 1981: distributed tracts, illegal literature, helped illegal comrades and families of political prisoners, etc. After returning from military service, he started working at the “Prishtina” railway company. In 1984, due to political activity, he was arrested and sentenced to four years in prison. After being released from prison, he completed the High School of Communication in Zagreb and studied at the construction department of the Technical Faculty of the University of Prishtina. He was very active in the political turmoil of 1988-89. His activity was monitored by the Serbian secret service. He was surrounded in his apartment in Prishtina and killed in 1989. After the war, he was declared Hero of Kosova. (In the photo: Fahri Fazliu)
