The “Padalishte Massacre” occurred on March 26, 1999, in the village of Padalishte, within the municipality of Istog. In the early hours of the morning, Serbian police and military forces surrounded the . village Fearing for their lives, many villagers fled their homes in search of safety. The Imeraj family, however, sought refuge at the edge of the village. After enduring brutal mistreatment, 19 members of the Imeraj family were massacred by Serbian forces. The victims ranged in age from 2 to 76 years old, with 11 women and 5 children, aged 2 to 16, among those killed in the massacre. (In the photo: View of Padalisht village.)
