In Istanbul, the first issue of the newspaper “Shqipëtari” (“The Albanian”)(1909–1910) was published, a weekly political, social, and cultural newspaper. It was published in three languages: Albanian, Turkish, and French. It continued intermittently until the end of 1910, totaling 64 issues. It was directed by Dervish Hima with editor-in-chief Hilë Mosi. It advocated for the national rights of the Albanian people and provided assistance to the Albanian National Movement of those years.
