The State University of Tetovo was founded as a higher educational and scientific institution, a significant center for preparing qualified specialists. It is open and accessible to all those who, as students, teachers, or collaborators, with their intellectual and moral qualities, in the defined environment of university autonomy, as advocates of academic freedom of individual expression and demonstration of abilities and qualities, contribute to the field of education, science, and professionalism development. The period from 1994 to 2003 is the historical time of the establishment of the University of Tetovo. The period from 2004 to 2010 is the period of institutional development of the university and the time of academic and physical modernization. The State University of Tetovo has emerged as a reformed university institution, as a unique public center in the Albanian language in North Macedonia for qualification, specialization, and scientific research. Today, the State University of Tetovo is structured into 13 faculties, 65 study programs, 115 study directions, and 3 research-science institutes. The State University of Tetovo aims to be the university of all citizens of North Macedonia; hence it is open to all students who wish to study, without national, religious, etc. distinctions.
