The first issue of the newspaper “L’Albanese d’Italia” (” The Albanian of Italy”) was published in Naples, a political, social and literary newspaper in Italian, partly also in Arbërisht. The newspaper continued its publication until issue 27, with a break until 03.06.1848. It was directed by Jeronim de Rada. It is known as the first newspaper in the history of the Albanian press. It published articles and news on various political events of the time in Italy and Europe. Submitted the request for the recognition of the rights of Arbëresh for the Albanian language and school.
