The National Bank of Albania was nationalized by the Anti-Fascist National Liberation Council and replaced by the Albanian State Bank. As is known, the National Bank was established in September 1925, based on the Italian-Albanian agreement on the Bank and loan from the Society for the Economic Development of Albania (Societa per lo Sviluppo Economico Albania), concluded between the Albanian Government and the Italian financial group.
