Xhafer Deva, political activist, member of the government during the German occupation, died in the United States of America. He was born in Mitrovica, in 1904. He was educated in Istanbul and in Vienna, where he graduated as a forest engineer. In 1943, he was among the main initiators of creating the “Second League of Prizren” organization (September, 1943), and later its chairman. In November 1943, he was appointed Minister of Internal Affairs in the government of Rexhep Mitrovica. Organizer of the massacre of February 4, 1944, in Tirana. After the end of the war, he took refuge in Austria, Egypt, etc., and, finally, settled in California (USA), where he dealt with the organization of anti-communist emigration, especially of Albanians from Kosovo living in America. In 1996, he recreated the organization “The Second League of Prizren”. He passed away in the United States of America. (In the photo: Xhafer Deva)
