The first issue of the newspaper “Koha” (“The Time”), a weekly political, social, cultural and literary newspaper, was published in Korça. In the years 1911-1912 and 1914 it was published in Korça; from January 22, 1915 to July 5, 1920 in Jamestown (USA), also partly in French. From year I to year XI (1920) it was directed by Mihal Grameno; from the issue dated 13.11.1920 until the end, it was directed by Koço Grameno. It defended the issue of Albania’s independence, exposed the politics of the Young Turks and the chauvinistic intentions of the neighboring kingdoms, as well as raised his voice for the rights of the Albanian people in the international arena. In the years 1920-1924, the newspaper “Koha”(“The Time”) maintained an open democratic and anti-feudal stance, ranking among the main organs of the democratic movement. It supported the democratic opposition in the Albanian parliament, the Democratic Revolution of June 1924 and the government of Fan S. Noli. It published portraits of many democratic patriots in the literary column. (In the photo: “Koha” (“The Time”) newspaper sheet.)
