In Constanta, Romania, the first issue of the newspaper “Flamur’ i Shqipërisë” (“Flag of Albania”) (1915-1916), political and social newspaper, organ of the Albanians of Romania, appeared; it was published once every ten days, in Albanian and Romanian; some headlines in both French and English. It was maintained with the contribution of the exiles, who for national purposes bought and put to work the “Albania” printing house. The aim of the newspaper was the development and progress of Albania and the Albanian nation. The newspaper “Flamur’ i Shqipërisë” reflected the patriotic activities of the Albanians of Romania, informed the Albanian and Romanian opinion about the situation, developments and problems of Albania; it contributed to the protection of the land integrity of Albania. Fiction was also published on its pages in Albanian, Romanian, etc.. The newspaper continued until August 1916. (In the photo: Front page of the “Flag of Albania” newspaper.)
