The National Museum “Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg”, also known as the Museum of Skanderbeg and the Museum of Kruja, was inaugurated in the Kruja castle. At the same time, this museum also has the character of a memorial that is treated as the Albanian tower of the North. The architects of the museum are Pirro Vaso and Pranvera Hoxha. The museum complex is divided into several spaces which are visited chronologically according to the events. This museum was built in the famous fortress of Kruja, the capital of the state of Arbër and the personification of the defeat of the Ottoman armies, three times in a row, in the 15th century. In this museum, many original objects, documents and bibliographies are exhibited , authentic reproductions that speak clearly about the history of the Albanian people in the 15th century and beyond. This museum includes pavilions such as the pavilion of antiquity and the early Middle Ages, the pavilion of the Albanian principalities, the Ottoman occupation and the resistance to this occupation, the pavilion of medieval castles, the Albanian resistance, the chancellery of Skanderbeg, the library, the hall of princes, of the pinocoteca and finally the heritage and echo pavilion. Ceramic, bronze, iron, copper objects, various facsimiles, original icons, writings, a bell from 1462, original XV century swords etc. are exhibited in these pavilions.
