Menhend Dervishaj

In the battles fought in Osdrim of Peja, Menhend Dervishaj, a fighter of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) and a martyr, was killed in action. He was born in Zabllac, Istog. In May 1998, he joined the ranks of the Kosovo Liberation Army in the Dukagjin Operational Zone, in Gllogjan. He participated in the battles in the frontlines in Voksh, then in Junik, Gjocaj, Jasiq, Smolica, Gllogjan, and other villages of the municipalities of Deçan and Gjakova. After the September 1998 offensive, he operated in the Rugova region for several months, contributing to establishing the 136th Brigade of the Dukagjin Operational Zone. He was involved in the Kosovo Liberation Army’s operations in the Istog region and in the formation of the 133rd Brigade “Adrian Krasniqi,” which operated in the Peja-Klinë-Istog triangle. He served as the deputy commander of the special unit of the 133rd Brigade “Adrian Krasniqi.” He fell as a martyr in the battles fought in Osdrim of Peja. (In the photo: Menhend Dervishaj)
