The first issue of the newspaper “Drita”, a political and social newspaper, with 2 pages in Albanian (with the Istanbul alphabet) and 2 pages in Turkish, was published in Manastir. It had the motto: “Protects national political and literary rights”. The director responsible for the establishment was Mustafa Hilmi Leskoviku, who was known as a journalist under the pseudonym Muço Qulli. First, it came out once a week, then twice a week from no. 27 to the end (no. 88). In addition to the political-patriotic stance, the “Drita” newspaper, from the beginning, expressed its civilizing and democratic intentions for the time.
