After finishing school in 1946, abbot Frano Gjini sent her to the school of Mirdita as a teacher. At the same time, Marie entered the path of faith, being more and more close to the Catholic Church, where she was serving. Marie Tuçi was arrested on August 10, 1949. After a reprisal of the communist system of that time, as a result of the execution of Bardhok Biba, secretary of the Communist Party in Mirdita, the most prominent families of this area were sentenced, including that of Gjonmarkaj, which Marie belonged to. They took her violently and sent her to the interrogation room. She was tortured by the head of Shkodra’s investigation, Hilmi Seiti. The most inhumane torture against Marie Tuçi, which was seen by dozens of witnesses, involved stripping her and putting her in a sack with a wild cat and violently assaulting her, so much so that Marie was sent to the hospital of Shkodra in a critical condition where, after a few days, dies as a result of physical and psychological violence. (In the photo: Marie Tuçi)

Text: https://kujto.al/personat/marie-tuci/

Photo: © https://kujto.al/personat/marie-tuci/

Graphic processing: AHCF

[15

post-8399","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-ditelindje
["GET
