The battle took place between the villages of Bërnica and Kulina. Government forces moved towards this area from two directions, to surround the insurgent forces. The operations of the Ottoman army were organized by Ismail Fadil Pasha, who set out from Pristina with eight battalions and took positions on the line Vranidoll-Teneshdoll- Majac radius. Meanwhile, six other infantry battalions, equipped with artillery, had left from Vushtrri, passing through Samadrexha and Breznica, with the aim of reaching the hills of Barileva and Lower Lupçi. The plan of the Ottoman forces failed, because the Albanian insurgents from Vesekofci reached Lupç and created a front line against the Ottoman army. In the gorge of Kulina, the insurgents fought for six hours in the unequal and bloody war. Losses on both sides were dozens killed. The war continued on July 13 and 14, 1912, and the Ottoman army was forced to withdraw from the field of Llap and was positioned in the hills around Pristina. (In the photo: Map of Kosovo)

Text: The encyclopedic dictionary of Kosovo – Vol. I , Academy of Sciences and Arts of Kosovo, Prishtina, 2018, page 179.

Photo: © https://cdn.britannica.com/79/118379-050-CBCDB4B8/Kosovo.jpg

Graphic processing: AHCF

The “Battle of Kulina” took place between the Ottoman army and the Albanian insurgents in the field of Llapi.

[17

post-8326","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-ngjarje
["GET
