Drane Xhaja, a comedy actress, was born in Shkod\u00ebr. She graduated from the artistic lyceum “Jordan Misja” in 1978 and the one-year course for actresses at the People’s Theater in 1979, the same year she began working at Estrada in Shkodra. She is an actress with a strong stage presence, graceful and confident in her actions, with clear and resonant diction. Her performances lean towards a plastically elegant mood, with careful approach to portraying “noble”, “citizen”, snobbish women, as well as talkative, somewhat urefined peasant women who pretend to be wise, among others. She has made a lasting impression with various characters from Shkodra’s civic environment and its surroundings, particularly in skits or even short comedies.
