This massacre, one of three committed in the village, occurred on May 25, 1998. Serbian military-police forces launched a punitive expedition against Lybeni\u0107, which was first shelled from the Zagerma military base. Following the shelling, special units of the Serbian police entered the village, where they looted homes, burned part of the village, and executed 9 civilians, wounding 3 others.
