The <\/span>National<\/span> Historical<\/span> Museum<\/span>, the <\/span>largest<\/span> museum<\/span> institution<\/span> in <\/span>Albania<\/span>, <\/span>was<\/span> inaugurated<\/span> in Tirana. A <\/span>working<\/span> group<\/span> consisting<\/span> of<\/span> the <\/span>best<\/span> specialists<\/span> in <\/span>museology<\/span>, <\/span>archeology<\/span>, <\/span>history<\/span>, <\/span>ethnography<\/span>, <\/span>visual<\/span> art <\/span>and<\/span> restoration<\/span> worked<\/span> on<\/span> the <\/span>conception<\/span> and<\/span> content<\/span>s<\/span> of<\/span> the <\/span>National<\/span> Historical<\/span> Museum<\/span>. The <\/span>working<\/span> group<\/span> was<\/span> led<\/span> by <\/span>prominent<\/span> personalities<\/span>, <\/span>such<\/span> as <\/span>Aleks<\/span> Buda, <\/span>Stefanaq<\/span> Pollo<\/span>, Selami <\/span>Pulaha<\/span>, Skënder <\/span>Anamali<\/span>, <\/span>Emin<\/span> Riza, <\/span>Burhan<\/span> Çiraku, <\/span>Kleanthi<\/span> Dedi<\/span>, <\/span>Iljaz<\/span> Goga<\/span>, Rrok <\/span>Zojzi<\/span>, <\/span>Abaz<\/span> Dojaka<\/span>, <\/span>Ramadan<\/span> Sokoli, Enver Faja, <\/span>Nina<\/span> Shehu, <\/span>Vilson<\/span> Kilica<\/span>, Fatmir Haxhiu, <\/span>Myrteza<\/span> Fushekati<\/span>, <\/span>Met<\/span> Deliu, Aleksandër <\/span>Meksi<\/span> and<\/span> many<\/span> others<\/span>. <\/span>Each<\/span> of<\/span> the <\/span>s<\/span>ho<\/span>wrooms<\/span> has a <\/span>distinct<\/span> architecture<\/span>, <\/span>thus<\/span> avoiding<\/span> monotony<\/span> and<\/span> repetition<\/span>. <\/span>Each<\/span> hall <\/span>conveys<\/span> the <\/span>message<\/span> and<\/span> atmosphere<\/span> of<\/span> the <\/span>period<\/span> to <\/span>which<\/span> it <\/span>belongs<\/span>. The <\/span>building<\/span> of<\/span> the <\/span>National<\/span> Historical<\/span> Museum<\/span> occupies<\/span> a total <\/span>area<\/span> of<\/span> 27,000 m <\/span><\/span>2 <\/span><\/span>; it has an <\/span>exhibition<\/span> area<\/span> of<\/span> 18,000 m <\/span><\/span>2 <\/span><\/span>and<\/span> a total volume <\/span>of<\/span> 81,000 m <\/span><\/span>3 <\/span><\/span>. In the <\/span>premises<\/span> of<\/span> the <\/span>museum<\/span> there are <\/span>about<\/span> 6200 <\/span>objects<\/span>, <\/span>which<\/span> belong<\/span> to a <\/span>relatively<\/span> long<\/span> period<\/span> of<\/span> time, <\/span>starting<\/span> from<\/span> the 4th <\/span>millennium<\/span> BC <\/span>and<\/span> up<\/span> to the <\/span>second<\/span> half<\/span> of<\/span> the 20th <\/span>century<\/span>. <\/span>On<\/span> the <\/span>main<\/span> facade<\/span> of<\/span> the <\/span>National<\/span> Historical<\/span> Museum<\/span> is<\/span> a <\/span>mosaic<\/span> measuring<\/span> 37 x 11 m <\/span>and<\/span> 10 m <\/span>high<\/span>. It <\/span>occupies<\/span> an <\/span>area<\/span> of<\/span> 400 m <\/span><\/span>2 <\/span><\/span>. The <\/span>mosaic<\/span> is<\/span> titled<\/span> “<\/span><\/span>Albania<\/span><\/span>“. The <\/span>pavilions<\/span>, <\/span>which<\/span> operated<\/span> until<\/span> 1992, <\/span>were<\/span>: <\/span>Antiquity<\/span>, <\/span>Middle<\/span> Ages<\/span>, <\/span>National<\/span> Renaissance<\/span>, Independence, <\/span>Anti-Fascist<\/span> National<\/span> Liberation<\/span> War<\/span> and<\/span> Socialism<\/span>. In 1996, the “<\/span>Communist<\/span> Persecution<\/span>” <\/span>pavilion<\/span> was<\/span> established<\/span>, <\/span>while<\/span> in 1999, the <\/span>Icons<\/span> pavilion<\/span> was<\/span> set <\/span>up<\/span>. <\/span>Within<\/span> the <\/span>framework<\/span> of<\/span> the 60th <\/span>anniversary<\/span> of<\/span> the <\/span>Liberation<\/span> of<\/span> the <\/span>Motherland<\/span>, in 2004, the <\/span>pavilion<\/span> of<\/span> the <\/span>Anti-Fascist<\/span> National<\/span> Liberation<\/span> War<\/span> was<\/span> rebuilt<\/span>. <\/span>Currently<\/span>, the <\/span>National<\/span> History<\/span> Museum<\/span> has <\/span>seven<\/span> pavilions<\/span>: <\/span>Antiquity<\/span>, <\/span>Middle<\/span> Ages<\/span>, <\/span>Iconography<\/span>, <\/span>National<\/span> Renaissance<\/span>, Independence, <\/span>Anti-Fascist<\/span> National<\/span> Liberation<\/span> War<\/span> and<\/span> “<\/span>Communist<\/span> Persecution<\/span>“. <\/span><\/span>(<\/span>Pictured<\/span>: Front <\/span>view<\/span> of<\/span> the <\/span>National<\/span> History<\/span> Museum<\/span>.)<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
