The first issue of the newspaper “Republika” (\u201cThe Republic\u201d) (1923-1925), a weekly political, social and cultural newspaper, was published in Shkod\u00ebr; it was also partially published in French. Founder and owner Nikoll\u00eb Ivanaj, director Mirash Ivanaj. Its aim was to “train the people in public governance” <\/i>, for which it was banned at the beginning of July 1925. From issue to issue, the newspaper expanded its profile, raising and addressing literary and scientific issues. 44 numbers circulated, as well as 2 special numbers.
