In the village of Zhapokik\u00eb (T\u00ebrpan commune of Berat), the Zhapokik\u00eb rebellion erupted, an anti-communist uprising against the communist regime in Albania. The rebellion of Zhapokik\u00eb, although it was smaller and more local, compared to Kelmendi and Postriba, was of great importance, because it produced many tragic consequences after the armed confrontation with the state police forces, with people killed and shot, with trials and death sentences. This rebellion consisted of an organized band of insurgents with an internal organizational structure that aimed to expand and connect with other parts of the South. The rebellion of Zhapokik\u00eb is another proof that communism was opposed with weapons, not only in the north, but also in the south. With the suppression of the Zhapokik\u00eb movement, the chapter of armed uprisings against the communist government in Albania was closed and the long period of subjugation, persecution, impoverishment and extreme isolation of the people and the country began.
