Ibrahim Bi<\/span><\/span>ç<\/span><\/span>aku<\/span> was born in Elbasan, political activist, son of <\/span>Aqif<\/span> Pasha Elbasan, prime minister during the German occupation, feudal lord. He attended high school and the Commercial Academy in Austria, where he graduated as an agronomist. After returning to his homeland, in the parliamentary elections of January 31, 1937, he was elected deputy of Elbasan. After the fascist invasion, he was appointed a member of the Constitutional Assembly. This Assembly was <\/span>convened<\/span>, on April 12, 1939, by Italian fascists and declared the overthrow of the monarchist regime of Ahmet Zog, as well as created a government with full powers. He was the owner of <\/span>the store “Flora” in the center of Tirana, which served as an illegal base for communist groups and the Albanian Communist Party. After the capitulation of fascist Italy and the entry of German troops into Albania (September 1943), he was appointed <\/span>chairman<\/span> of the Provisional Executive Committee. He <\/span>represented<\/span> Elbasan in the National Assembly (1943). He was appointed prime minister and simultaneously minister of foreign affairs and minister of internal affairs (1944). He was arrested on December 6, <\/span>1944,<\/span> and convicted as a collaborator. After his release, on May 5, 1962, he spent the last years of his life in Elbasan.
