In front of the mosque in the village of Sauk, Ti<\/span>ra<\/span>na, <\/span>Hoxhe<\/span> Selim <\/span>B<\/span>ra<\/span>hja<\/span>, a Muslim cleric, was killed by partisans. <\/span>Born in the village of Sauk in 1890, he g<\/span>ra<\/span>duated in theology in <\/span>Turkey<\/span>. In 1916, after conside<\/span>ra<\/span>ble effort, he and Mehmet Efendi Sauk succeeded in opening the first Albanian school in their village. <\/span>B<\/span>ra<\/span>hja<\/span> actively <\/span>participated<\/span> in the Fan Noli movement of<\/span> 1924. In March 1940, he was arrested by Italian forces and sentenced to four months in prison.
