The “Actions for the <\/span>Li<\/span>be<\/span>ra<\/span>tion of<\/span> Çorovod<\/span>a<\/span>,” offensive battles against the fascist invaders, took place during the first phase (July 1942-April 1943) of the Anti-Fascist National <\/span>Li<\/span>be<\/span>ra<\/span>tion War, carried out by partisan u<\/span>nits. These actions began with the encirclement, capture, and complete disarmament of a mi<\/span>li<\/span>tia company in the village of <\/span>Melovë<\/span> in Sk<\/span>ra<\/span>par, intensifying particularly between September 3rd and 5th against 1,000 mi<\/span>li<\/span>tiamen and ca<\/span>ra<\/span>binieri, <\/span>ultimately leadin<\/span>g<\/span> to the <\/span>li<\/span>be<\/span>ra<\/span>tion of<\/span> Çorovod<\/span>a<\/span> on September 5, 1942. Following this, from September 11th to 13th, the enemy launched a larger ope<\/span>ra<\/span>tion with reinforcements aimed at recapturing<\/span> Çorovod<\/span>a<\/span> and restoring the regime of occupation throughout Sk<\/span>ra<\/span>par; however, t<\/span>hey were unable to achieve their <\/span>objectives<\/span>. The offensive actions of the partisan detachments in Sk<\/span>ra<\/span>par continued relentlessly during October and November 1942, culminating in the annihilation of the last fascist detachment in<\/span> Çorovod<\/span>a<\/span> on December 7th. O<\/span>n December 11th, the enemy <\/span>initiated<\/span> a large-scale ope<\/span>ra<\/span>tion from multiple directions, supported by aviation, but <\/span>faced repeated attacks from local partisans, who coordinated their efforts with guerrilla units in Be<\/span>ra<\/span>t and <\/span>Lushnje<\/span>, even shooting down two e<\/span>nemy planes.<\/span> Çorovod<\/span>a<\/span> was eventually <\/span>li<\/span>be<\/span>ra<\/span>ted, becoming one of the most important bases of the Anti-Fascist National <\/span>Li<\/span>be<\/span>ra<\/span>tion War. <\/span><\/span>(In the photo: View from<\/em><\/span> Çorovod<\/span>a<\/span><\/em>.)<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
