The “<\/span>XI<\/span>X<\/span> Assault <\/span>Briga<\/span>de” of the Albanian National <\/span>Li<\/span>be<\/span>ra<\/span>tion Army was formed in <\/span>Theollogo<\/span> (now <\/span>Partizani<\/span>) in Sa<\/span>ra<\/span>nda, <\/span>comprising<\/span> fighters from the “<\/span>Tho<\/span>ma<\/span> Lula,” “Thanas Ziko,” and “Pande<\/span>li<\/span> Boçari<\/span>” batta<\/span>li<\/span>ons of Group IV of Ope<\/span>ra<\/span>tive Zone I, tota<\/span>li<\/span>ng <\/span>about 800 members organized into 3 batta<\/span>li<\/span>ons. The <\/span>briga<\/span>de quickly began combat ope<\/span>ra<\/span>tions aimed at destroying isolated garrisons, attacking Ger<\/span>ma<\/span>n convoys, and dis<\/span>ma<\/span>nt<\/span>li<\/span>ng collabo<\/span>ra<\/span>tionist forces. On September 18, 1944, its second batta<\/span>li<\/span>on, in coope<\/span>ra<\/span>tio<\/span>n with the forces of the <\/span>XI<\/span>V Assault <\/span>Briga<\/span>de, successfully <\/span>li<\/span>be<\/span>ra<\/span>ted <\/span>Gjirokast<\/span>ra<\/span>. Following t<\/span>ra<\/span>ining and combat actions, part of the forces of the <\/span>XI<\/span>X<\/span> Assault <\/span>Briga<\/span>de <\/span>participated<\/span> in battles for the <\/span>li<\/span>be<\/span>ra<\/span>tion of Sa<\/span>ra<\/span>nda and Delvina alongside the <\/span>XI<\/span>V and <\/span>X<\/span>I<\/span>I Assault <\/span>Briga<\/span>des. By order of the Gene<\/span>ra<\/span>l Com<\/span>ma<\/span>nd of the Albanian National <\/span>Li<\/span>be<\/span>ra<\/span>tion Army, on October 10, 1944, the <\/span>briga<\/span>de was tasked with securing the coastal border from Vlo<\/span>ra<\/span> to <\/span>Konispol<\/span>. Led by commissar <\/span>Vangjo<\/span> Mitrojorgjin<\/span>, the <\/span>XI<\/span>X<\/span> Assault <\/span>Briga<\/span>d<\/span>e suffered the loss of 53 <\/span>ma<\/span>rtyrs.
