In Vlora, <\/span>Zylyf<\/span>t<\/span>ar<\/span> Veleshnja<\/span>, a par<\/span>t<\/span>icipan<\/span>t<\/span> in democra<\/span>t<\/span>ic movemen<\/span>t<\/span>s and <\/span>t<\/span>he Na<\/span>t<\/span>i<\/span>onal Libera<\/span>t<\/span>ion An<\/span>t<\/span>i-Fascis<\/span>t<\/span> War, passed away. Born in <\/span>t<\/span>he village of <\/span>Veleshnje<\/span> in Skrapar in 1902, he <\/span>par<\/span>t<\/span>icipa<\/span>t<\/span>ed<\/span> in <\/span>t<\/span>he June Revolu<\/span>t<\/span>ion of 1924 and collabora<\/span>t<\/span>ed wi<\/span>t<\/span>h figures such as Asim <\/span>Vokshi<\/span> and Riza <\/span>Cerova<\/span> during <\/span>t<\/span>he an<\/span>t<\/span>i-monarchis<\/span>t<\/span> Uprising of Fier<\/span> in 1935. Following <\/span>t<\/span>he uprising’s <\/span>failure, he fled <\/span>t<\/span>o Greece. <\/span>Veleshnja<\/span> re<\/span>t<\/span>urned <\/span>t<\/span>o Albania in 1939 and <\/span>immedia<\/span>t<\/span>ely<\/span> joined <\/span>t<\/span>he Na<\/span>t<\/span>ional Libera<\/span>t<\/span>ion An<\/span>t<\/span>i-Fascis<\/span>t<\/span> Movemen<\/span>t<\/span>, <\/span>t<\/span>aking on various command roles including commander of <\/span>t<\/span>he par<\/span>t<\/span>isan de<\/span>t<\/span>achmen<\/span>t<\/span> of Skr<\/span>apar in 1942, depu<\/span>t<\/span>y commander of <\/span>t<\/span>he dis<\/span>t<\/span>ric<\/span>t<\/span> headquar<\/span>t<\/span>ers of Bera<\/span>t<\/span>, and commander of <\/span>t<\/span>he par<\/span>t<\/span>isan ba<\/span>t<\/span>t<\/span>alion “Riza <\/span>Cerova<\/span>” in 1943, as well as commander of <\/span>t<\/span>he par<\/span>t<\/span>isan group of Skrapar in 1944. He dis<\/span>t<\/span>inguished himself as a skilled warrior and leader and<\/span> was elec<\/span>t<\/span>ed a member of <\/span>t<\/span>he Na<\/span>t<\/span>ional Libera<\/span>t<\/span>ion An<\/span>t<\/span>i-Fascis<\/span>t<\/span> Council a<\/span>t<\/span> t<\/span>he <\/span>Përme<\/span>t<\/span> Congress in 1944. Af<\/span>t<\/span>er <\/span>t<\/span>he libera<\/span>t<\/span>ion, despi<\/span>t<\/span>e being a war invalid, <\/span>Veleshnja<\/span> held significan<\/span>t<\/span> posi<\/span>t<\/span>ions in <\/span>t<\/span>he army and local au<\/span>t<\/span>hori<\/span>t<\/span>ies in Skrapar and Bera<\/span>t<\/span>. He served <\/span>as vice-presiden<\/span>t<\/span> of <\/span>t<\/span>he Albanian People’s War Ve<\/span>t<\/span>erans Commi<\/span>t<\/span>t<\/span>ee and was elec<\/span>t<\/span>ed depu<\/span>t<\/span>y of <\/span>t<\/span>he People’s Assembly in all legisla<\/span>t<\/span>ures. <\/span><\/span>(In <\/em><\/span>t<\/span>he pho<\/span>t<\/span>o: <\/span>Zylyf<\/span>t<\/span>ar<\/span> Veleshnja<\/span><\/em>)<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
