Faruk Begolli, an ac<\/span>t<\/span>or, direc<\/span>t<\/span>or, and universi<\/span>t<\/span>y<\/span> professor, passed away. He was born in Peja in 1944, where he comple<\/span>t<\/span>ed his primary and secondary educa<\/span>t<\/span>ion. He finished his ac<\/span>t<\/span>ing s<\/span>t<\/span>udies a<\/span>t<\/span> t<\/span>he Academy for <\/span>T<\/span>hea<\/span>t<\/span>re, Film, <\/span>Radio<\/span> and <\/span>T<\/span>elevision in Belgrade in 1966 and wen<\/span>t<\/span> on <\/span>t<\/span>o appear in over 60 films a<\/span>nd <\/span>T<\/span>V dramas across various genres, <\/span>es<\/span>t<\/span>ablishing<\/span> himself as one of <\/span>t<\/span>he mos<\/span>t<\/span> popular film ac<\/span>t<\/span>ors in <\/span>t<\/span>he former Yugoslavia. In <\/span>t<\/span>he early 1970s, he was one of <\/span>t<\/span>he firs<\/span>t<\/span> ac<\/span>t<\/span>ing pedagogues in <\/span>t<\/span>he drama depar<\/span>t<\/span>men<\/span>t<\/span> a<\/span>t<\/span> t<\/span>he Higher Pedagogical School in Prish<\/span>t<\/span>ina. L<\/span>a<\/span>t<\/span>er, in 1989, he founded <\/span>t<\/span>he ac<\/span>t<\/span>ing direc<\/span>t<\/span>ion and <\/span>t<\/span>he b<\/span>ran<\/span>c<\/span>h of drama<\/span>t<\/span>ic ar<\/span>t<\/span> a<\/span>t<\/span> t<\/span>he Facul<\/span>t<\/span>y of Ar<\/span>t<\/span>s of <\/span>t<\/span>he Universi<\/span>t<\/span>y of Prish<\/span>t<\/span>ina, where he <\/span>t<\/span>augh<\/span>t<\/span> ac<\/span>t<\/span>ing un<\/span>t<\/span>il 2007. From 2000 <\/span>t<\/span>o 2005, he served as <\/span>t<\/span>he direc<\/span>t<\/span>or of <\/span>t<\/span>he <\/span>t<\/span>hea<\/span>t<\/span>er “Dodona.” His ar<\/span>t<\/span>is<\/span>t<\/span>ic caree<\/span>r as an ac<\/span>t<\/span>or began in 1966 wi<\/span>t<\/span>h <\/span>t<\/span>he Yugoslav films “<\/span>Shikimi<\/span> në<\/span> bebezën<\/span> e <\/span>dielli<\/span>t<\/span>” (“Looking a<\/span>t<\/span> t<\/span>he Sun”) and “<\/span>Endërr<\/span>” (“Dream”), af<\/span>t<\/span>er which he <\/span>t<\/span>ook on lead and suppor<\/span>t<\/span>ing roles in many locally produced films. Al<\/span>t<\/span>hough he had fewer roles in <\/span>t<\/span>hea<\/span>t<\/span>er, durin<\/span>g <\/span>t<\/span>he 1980s, he performed in several produc<\/span>t<\/span>ions a<\/span>t<\/span> t<\/span>he Provincial People’s <\/span>T<\/span>hea<\/span>t<\/span>re. He made a no<\/span>t<\/span>able re<\/span>t<\/span>urn <\/span>t<\/span>o <\/span>t<\/span>he Na<\/span>t<\/span>ional <\/span>T<\/span>hea<\/span>t<\/span>re of Kosovo in 2006, where he played <\/span>t<\/span>he lead role in Shakespeare’s “<\/span>Mbre<\/span>t<\/span>i<\/span> Lir” (“King Lear”). A<\/span>t<\/span> t<\/span>he <\/span>t<\/span>hea<\/span>t<\/span>er “Dodona,” he <\/span>direc<\/span>t<\/span>ed several performances, primarily wi<\/span>t<\/span>h his s<\/span>t<\/span>uden<\/span>t<\/span>s. <\/span>T<\/span>hroughou<\/span>t<\/span> his career, he received recogni<\/span>t<\/span>ion and various awards in <\/span>t<\/span>he former Yugoslavia as well as in pos<\/span>t<\/span>-war Kosovo.<\/span> <\/span>(In <\/em><\/span>t<\/span>he pho<\/span>t<\/span><\/em>o: Faruk Begolli<\/em>)<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
