He participated in numerous patriotic activities in Ka\u00e7anik during the 1990s. In March 1998, he joined the ranks of the KLA in Ka\u00e7anik. On August 4, 1998, he became part of a unit of 23 fighters prepared to engage in combat against Serbian forces in the Nerodime Operational Zone, in the area of Jezerc.
