Bashkim Fino, prime minister of the Government of National Reconciliation, political activist, passed away in Tirana. He was born in Gjirokast\u00ebr, in 1962. He completed his higher studies and graduated from the Faculty of Economics (majoring in finance) at the University of Tirana (1986). He worked at the Information-Economic Center in Gjirokast\u00ebr (1987-1992) and was its director (1990-1992). He was elected mayor of Gjirokastra in 1992-1996. With the agreement of March 9, 1997 between the political forces, which aimed to find a solution to the situation created by the events of the beginning of 1997, which led to the paralysis of state structures, Bashkim Fino was appointed Prime Minister of the Government of National Reconciliation (March-July 1997). At its head, he took measures to restore public order and prepare for the parliamentary elections of June 1997, in which he was elected deputy of Ku\u00e7ova. In the government that emerged from these elections, he was appointed deputy prime minister (11.08.1997\u201316.04.1998); Minister of Local Government (20.04.1998\u201302.10.1998), Minister of Local Government (05.01.1999\u201311.09.2001), Minister of Public Works and Tourism (12.09.2001\u201320.02.2002), Minister of Territorial Regulation and Tourism (29.12.2003\u2013September 2005).
