Injac Ndojaj, the first Albanian geologist and docent, passed away in Tirana. He was born in Shkod\u00ebr, in 1913. He finished high school in his hometown. He pursued higher studies in chemistry and biology and graduated from the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Turin (1940), where he specialized in petrography. In 1940-1947, he was a chemistry and biology teacher in the gymnasium of Shkodra; in 1947, he was appointed a member of the Institute of Sciences, where he established the Department of Geology in the Museum of Natural Sciences (1949). Injac Ndojaj established and directed the Department of Petrography (1955) at the Central Laboratory of Geology and the Department of Petrography at the University of Tirana (1958); he was the first to defend a dissertation for a scientific degree in Albania (1953). Taught petrography for many years and published its first texts. Injac Ndojaj has done numerous studies in the field of magmatism and the search for useful minerals (magnesium, asbestos, olivine, etc.), as well as in the field of petrography, petrology, and regional geology. He is the initiator of the introduction of new notions (1963) for the ophiolites of Albania and their study on a modern basis, as well as the connection of Albanian geology with the advanced contemporary schools of alpine geology (1964). He is the author of the monograph \u201cV\u00ebshtrim mbi kromitet e Shqip\u00ebris\u00eb\u201d (\u201cOverview of the chromities of Albania\u201d)<\/i>, which was a synthesis of his decades of studies, and the author of a series of articles (also in foreign magazines), reports, projects and scientific reports.
