Xhevat Gashi, general practitioner, martyr, was found murdered in the village Prekall\u00eb of Istog. He was born in Kosuriq, Peja, in 1953. He completed his primary and secondary education in Peja, while he completed the Faculty of Medicine in Prishtina. He worked in Trestenik, in Treboviq and in the Emergency Service in Peja. After the violent removal of the workers by the Serbian authorities, he was active in the doctors’ unions. He made a special contribution at the time of mass poisoning of Albanian students and children by the Serbian government. Several times, he was taken in for “informative talks” due to his work and activities. He was kidnapped on January 20, 1999, while going to work, and on January 21, he was found murdered in the village of Prekall\u00ebin Istog. (In the photo: Xhevat Gashi)<\/i><\/p>\n
