In Prishtina, after fierce fighting, Rexhep Mala, political activist and fighter for the freedom of Kosova, was killed. He was born in Hogosht of Kamenica (today Dardan\u00eb), in 1951. He completed the high school in Gjilan. He participated in the demonstrations of 1968. As a student at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Prishtina, he engaged in illegal political activity for the establishment of the “Kosova Republic” demand. Compiler and publisher of the illegal organ “Voice of Kosova”. On December 24, 1974, he was arrested and sentenced to 9 years in prison. He continued his illegal activity after his release from prison (1983). He was among the leaders of the Movement for the Republic of Albanians in Yugoslavia. On February 11, 2004, he was reburied in the National Martyrs’ Memorial Complex in Gjilan. (In the photo: Rexhep Mala)<\/i><\/p>\n
