Noel Malcolm, an English historian with a significant contribution to shedding light on the history of Kosovo, was born in Berkshire, England. He studied at Eton College and the University of Cambridge for English literature, where he also obtained a Ph.D. in history in 1983. From 1981 to 1988, he was an external fellow at Gonville and Caius College, specializing in history, English literature, and philosophy. Later, he worked as a journalist and editor in the press. In 1995, he returned to scientific research activities. In 1999, he was elected chairman of the Anglo-Albanian Society; in 2001, he was elected to the British Academy, and in 2002, he was appointed Professor (Senior Research Fellow) at All Souls College at the University of Oxford. Noel Malcolm has published a series of studies on the history of the Albanians. His monograph “Kosovo – A Short History,” published in London in 1998, was reprinted in 1999 and translated into several languages \u200b\u200b(Albanian, Serbo-Croatian, Turkish, Bulgarian). Some of his other studies include “Notes on the Early History of a Catholic Albanian Clan,” “Crypto-Christianity and Religious Amphibianism in the Ottoman Balkans: The Case of Kosovo,” “Myths of Albanian National Identity: Some Key Elements, as Expressed in the Works of Albanian Writers in America in the Early Twentieth Century,” and “Albanian Identities: Myth and History.” Noel Malcolm was awarded the “Golden Medal of the Albanian League of Prizren” in Kosovo.
