The Naval Forces consist of combat forces, supporting combat forces, and logistic support forces. They perform the following tasks: maintain forces ready to defend state interests in inland waters, territorial seas, and the exclusive economic zone of the Albanian maritime space; carry out active legal and peacekeeping operations in the region, in cooperation with naval forces of other partner armies; ensure the open flow of maritime transport traffic and the operation of ports and naval bases; equip the Albanian coastline with necessary means to ensure safe navigation and prepare and keep specialized naval troops ready for counterterrorism, sabotage, and actions against constitutional order.
