In the military confrontation with the Serbian forces, Remzi Ademaj, an activist and fighter of the Kosovo Liberation Army, was martyred. He was born in the village of Zhur in the municipality of Prizren in 1952. He emigrated to the West in the early 1980s. In 1985, while returning to Kosovo, he was arrested by the Italian police and handed over to the Yugoslav authorities. In the summer of 1986, the District Court of Prizren sentenced him to 6 years in prison for political activity. In 1995, he was arrested for the second time and sentenced to 3.5 years in prison, accused of participating in the formation of the structures of the Ministry of Defense of Kosovo in the area of V\u00ebrrin. At the beginning of 1998, he joined the ranks of the Kosovo Liberation Army in the Drenica area. Subsequently, he was appointed by the General Staff of the Kosovo Liberation Army to the position of war commander in the territory of V\u00ebrrin. He took part in the fighting in the “Tusus” neighborhood, in Ho\u00e7\u00eb of the City, and in the vicinity of Prizren. In August 1998, the General Staff of the Kosovo Liberation Army appointed him deputy commander for the Pashtrik Operational Zone. On August 14, 1998, while traveling from Kle\u00e7ka to V\u00ebrri with some fellow fighters, he was ambushed by Serbian forces, first in Tupec, then in Vlashnja and Grazhdanik.
