Fato Berberi, participant of the Anti-Fascist National Liberation War, and Hero of the People, was hanged in the Thessaloniki concentration camp. She was born in Gjirokast\u00ebr in 1927. In 1943 she became a partisan in the ranks of the “Youth” detachment and then in the 6th Assault Brigade (1944), where he was assigned the task of battalion nurse and was accepted into the ranks of the communist youth. He took part in many battles and bravely faced the harsh conditions of the war. Wounded during a fight, he was captured by the Nazis, imprisoned in Gjirokastra and then sent to the Thessaloniki concentration camp, where he was hanged in 1944. (Photo: Fato Berberi)<\/i><\/p>\n
