He was born in Gjakova, in 1702. He studied in the Illyrian colleges (educational institutions of the Catholic Church) of Fermo and Loreto (Italy), where he received the degree of <i>Doctor in theology and philosophy <\/i>. In 1743 he was appointed archbishop of Skopje and remained in this position until the end of his life. In 1740 he discovered Gjon Buzuku&#8217;s &#8220;Meshari&#8221; (\u201cMissal\u201d) in the library of the College of Religious Propaganda (College for the Evangelization of Peoples, in Rome).
