Naxhi Bakalli was born in Tirana and is a prominent painter, muralist, illustrator, and graphic artist in Albanian art of the 20th and 21st centuries. He completed the Artistic Lyceum “Jordan Misja” and graduated from the High Institute of Arts in Tirana in 1965. After exhibiting his painting “Kur yjet mbushin qiellin” (“When the Stars Fill the Sky”) in 1969, he did not exhibit again for 20 years. Naxhi Bakalli is the author of the mural “P\u00ebrballimi” (\u201cConfrontation\u201d) located at the “Gjergj Kastrioti Sk\u00ebnderbeu” National Museum in Kruj\u00eb (1982) and several other mural works in Burrel and Tirana. Since 1971, he has published his masterful drawings in the magazine “Shqip\u00ebria e Re” (\u201cNew Albania\u201d), covering various themes, characters, and events related to national history and culture.
