The first issue of the newspaper “Albanija” (1902-1906), a political, social, cultural and literary newspaper, was published in Belgrade. 44 numbers were published in Albanian, Serbian, French, Romanian and Italian. The owner and manager was Jashar Erebara. The first issue came out with the motto: “Skipnija e skiptarari”. The newspaper propagated the program of the national movement for the freedom and independence of Albania, insisting on the union of Albanians, Gege and Toske, wherever they were. She further deepened the demands of the Albanians for the Albanian language and school; fought against the conservative forces and generally against the danger that came to Albania from the territorial claims of the neighboring kingdoms.
